Under His Cherry Blossom Sky

Under His Cherry Blossom Sky

By Craig Miyamoto, 2005/2010

Our thoughts daily wander under His cherry blossom sky,

Their pinking petals floating earthward from above,

Settling on our sleeves like miniature silken dragon scales,

Caressing cheeks with a glistening opalescent nacre.

Fluttering wings of softness brush against our hearts

And embrace our souls with airy feathery flowers.

Their touch lifts us high above His cottony clouds

And when we nap, they light upon our slumbering eyes.

And lo, His beauty puts the blossom sky to shame

He lights the heavens with the beauty of His smile.

While over us we watch the woolen pillows echo

His countenance, His thoughts, His beauteous name.

What beauty is found twixt boughs and foliage green

That hold the secret thoughts of our loving hearts

In velvet pouches clutched close to heaving breasts

And shared through Him as pale hues coast across the sky.

And so He stands above the pink, amongst the blushing glow,

Our fingers lovingly entwined, sharing deep unspoken thoughts,

Exchanging touches, gazes, giving the gift of quiet whispers –

For this is His time, His life, His cherry blossom sky.

(I wrote this poem in 2005, on a beautiful Spring day in Hawaii, and revised it this Easter morning.)

Beyond beautiful! Very touching and realistic. You made me feel as though I was there!
