So Much for Sentimentality

If you’re not going to play by the rules, don’t carry evidence against you in your luggage.

During a routine questioning at Manchester Airport, a 40-year-old Mexican chef told London airport officials that he was visiting Britain to see a friend who was opening a restaurant in the area, and that he would only be staying a few days.

Unfortunately for him, the routine procedure also called for a luggage inspection where officials found a card from his church wishing him luck in his “new life” in the United Kingdom. Upon further questioning, he told them he was going to work there illegally and if he liked it there, was going to bring his family there from America.

Busted!

My question is, why does Mexican NATIONAL who’s living in America (legally, I hope) want to enter England illegally? Why doesn't he go through proper channels?

Oh gosh Craig. Illegal immigration aggravates me to death. Here in TX it is a big problem. I have known people that hire illegals to work their ranches and they KNOW the person is illegal. One worker had been arrested at the border and let go so many times, that he decided to cut his fingerprints off of his fingertips. He would work here for several years and go back over to be with his family in Mexico for about a year. Then he would come back to work over here. This was going on for a good while. Then one year he did not come back. The people he worked for, never heard from him again. The problem is I don't think people that don't live in border states understand the big deal. I often wonder how many terrorists, disguised as Mexicans, sneak over our borders. I am afraid others in the US will eventually feel the affects of illegals with the growing problem of Mexican Drug Cartels. I know that there is a big one outside of Atlanta. Then maybe something will be done but it may be too late. The urgency does not seem to be felt by the majority of our citizens or the Feds right now.
