Octopus Trees 'De-Tentacled'

The Octopus Trees (Schefflera actinophylla) situated in our neighbor’s yard and abutting the stone wall that separates our driveway from their property, had a haircut yesterday
The long branches have been cut down, opening up our view of the ocean once again. The owners of the property are doing some major renovations to the house, in anticipation of a family member’s arrival in a couple of months.
It’s been a few years since the trees were trimmed ‘way back, so it’s a joy to see a lot of blue sky once again. Although, the trimming looks a bit haphazard, as a few branches are sticking up higher and remind me of a bad haircut with tufts of hair poking out from a moppet’s mop on top of his head.
Oh well, who am I to complain? The sun is shining, the breeze is wafting more, the poor doves have nowhere to perch in anticipation of Craig’s feeding them, and I’ve been reminded once again.
I need a haircut.
